"Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account."
- - - Oscar Wilde
"I made no resolutions for the New Year. The habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanctioning and molding my life, is too much of a daily event for me."
- - - Anaïs Nin
I have read these two quotations numerous times throughout my life and every time I do, I simply nod my head in agreement.
Why do people insist on resolutions that they have no possible way to fulfill ... or keep?
Like Ms. Nin ... I resolve, plan ... choose ... everyday. Sometimes to the betterment of my situation. Other times to result in consequential failure.
It does, however, remain a constant in my life.
My goal: to be able to one day cash all those checks on an account full of good intentions, blessed smiles, and rewards unending.
